Delete Your Account

Permanently delete your SpeakKey account and everything associated with it.

How to delete your account

  • iPhone app: open the Account tab, tap Delete account and confirm.
  • Android app: open Account (bottom bar), tap Delete Account and confirm.
  • On the web: sign in at speakkey.com, then open Account Settings → Security → Delete account and confirm.

Password accounts confirm with the password; accounts that sign in with Google or Apple type DELETE. Deleting from any one of these places removes the same single SpeakKey account everywhere.

Sign in to delete your account

After signing in you land on Account Settings; Delete account is in the Security section.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no way to recover the account or its data afterwards. We remove:

  • Your login and profile (email, name, authentication).
  • All of your documents, along with their source audio, photos and PDF forms in storage.
  • Your templates (including any you published to the gallery), macros, filled forms, Live Type vocabulary, privacy choices and preferences.
  • Your usage history and per-account analytics.
  • Any active subscription is cancelled and your customer record with our payment provider is deleted.

What is kept

  • Security log of phone sign-ins: if you signed in on a computer with your phone, the log of those sign-ins (computer IP address, approximate country and browser) is kept for 12 months from each sign-in to help investigate misuse, then deleted.
  • Backups: our encrypted database backups are kept for up to 12 months. Deleted data stays inside them until each backup expires; backups are used only to recover from a disaster.
  • Payment and tax records: records of past payments that the law requires us (and our payment provider) to keep, typically for 5 to 7 years.
  • A fully anonymized, aggregate record of the deletion (no name, email or account identifier) for our own business statistics.

Before you delete

  • Save any documents you want to keep — export or copy them first.
  • Deleting your account also ends any subscription on it straight away, with no refund for the remaining period.
